Artwork inspired by Ernst Haeckle

Along with the magical ocean, some of my recent works have been deeply inspired by Ernst Haeckle – a German zoologist and marine biologist. Born in 1834,  this extraordinary mind mapped a genealogical tree relating all life forms, and coined many terms in biology. He spent is entire life being amazed by nature and drawing it. His science illustrations are extra ordinary and have been a great inspiration to me.

I enjoy neopointillism and use my own techique to achieve extra-fine detailed results using simple gel pens. I create layers with different colored dots. In my knowledge, I dont know any other pointillist/artist that particularly does that. Mixing Haeckle’s work with my techique/style has been absolutely joyful!

I now like to read about what I am about to draw. This makes the process deeper and more meaningful.

Did you know? Squid bave 3 hearts!

I hope this piece brings good energy to your place and warms your heart.
